Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Mortimers?

Of course! I'm Sophie Lloyd, the Trainee Sales and Lettings Negotiator at Mortimers Estate Agents in Aylesbury. My primary responsibilities here include helping to generate and book valuations, qualifying suitable applicants, accompanying property viewings and overseeing the progression of sales and rentals to completion.

 

What inspired you to join the estates industry and work alongside the team at Mortimers?

My inspiration for joining the estate industry largely stems from my mother, Claire Lloyd. Growing up, I saw first-hand how she made a positive impact on people's lives by helping them find their dream homes. Her passion for this field inspired me to follow in her footsteps and contribute to our community by assisting people in their property journeys.

 

What do you hope to bring to Mortimers with your unique perspective and background?

My unique perspective, having learned from a successful estate agent like my mother, allows me to combine traditional values with a fresh approach to dealing in property. I hope to bring outstanding customer service with a focus on delivering results.

 

Could you share any valuable lessons or advice you've learned from your mother, Claire, regarding the estate business?

One of the most valuable lessons I've learned from my mother is the importance of building genuine relationships with clients. She always emphasises the significance of trust, transparency, and integrity in this industry. She also taught me the importance of effective communication, ensuring that clients feel heard and valued throughout the entire process.

 

As a young professional entering the industry, what do you think are the key challenges and opportunities in the current property market?

The property market is constantly evolving, and one of the key challenges is staying updated with market trends and regulations. But I think this also presents opportunity for growth. As a team, we have to be adaptable and willing to embrace change, so that we can make the fluctuating market work in our client’s favour.

My long-term goal is to continue growing and excelling in the estate industry. I aim to become a trusted expert in the Buckinghamshire area, helping people find their dream homes. Ultimately, I hope to carry forward my mother's legacy and make a positive impact on our community.
